PRODAC Announces Successful Launch of DrinkSoft 2000
Tel Aviv, April 2001 - PRODAC Systems Ltd. announced the successful launch of its latest release, DrinkSoft 2000, the new Intranet/Internet version of PRODAC’s world-class beverage production management software DrinkSoft. DrinkSoft 2000 was installed at one of Europe’s largest and most technologically advanced beer packaging facilities, Bavaria Brewery in the Netherlands, with the support and assistance of Starren B.V., expert suppliers of total industrial automation solutions and a long-time advisor to Bavaria. Recognizing the potential of the new DrinkSoft tools, Bavaria elected to become the DrinkSoft 2000’s beta site. After Starren's extensive testing of the software achieved excellent results, the DrinkSoft 2000 applications were installed on top of Bavaria’s existing data collection infrastructure. The installation went very smoothly and the brewery’s production and IT staff expressed their enthusiasm about DrinkSoft 2000’s capabilities.

In DrinkSoft 2000, DrinkSoft’s core production management applications – the Plant Information Center and the Graphic Query Scroll – have been converted to a standard web browser format, thereby significantly reducing implementation and support costs. Moreover, the powerful insight and decision support that the DrinkSoft applications provide by directing users’ focus to key problems and opportunities in real time and by immediately analyzing these events in context is significantly enhanced by the increased accessibility of web-enabled applications.
Based on Microsoft’s DNA-M, the new system’s open architecture allows it to interface with a broad range of data acquisition systems and then process that data with DrinkSoft’s unique preconfigured database and analysis tools. Using the software industry’s latest standards such as XML and COM technology, DrinkSoft 2000 can be integrated into the existing plant information infrastructure and with the other components of an enterprise’s corporate information system. Furthermore, the new structure’s flexibility allows PRODAC to easily adapt the core components of DrinkSoft and leverage its knowledge to expand its scope to related process industries.
