Long-term improvements - Each long term improvement inspired by PRODAC, such as improved work organization, resulted in savings averaging over $50,000 per line.
Acute problems - Timely detection and correction of specific defects, such as bad batches of raw materials, improved yields or productivity as much as 10 to 15%. The problems had often gone on for weeks. On average, each fix resulted in savings of over $7,000 per line per week.
Savings figures are based on customer estimates of net savings, after deducting for amortized investments in goods and services.
